The Episcopal Church of the Good Samaritan offers an unparalleled spiritual and social fellowship in a community setting. The church is small, friendly, diverse in its membership, and inclusive in its outlook. Located on a lovely wooded site in the Forest Hills area of East Dallas, near White Rock Lake, the church can be easily reached from every part of Dallas and the surrounding suburbs. (Click here for a map and directions.) The church follows a traditional form of the Episcopal liturgy but in a very open context. Our mission: To know Christ, Wherever
you see this symbol What is the Episcopal Church? The Episcopal Church is an American institution, descended from the Church of England, and like it is a member of the world-wide Anglican Communion. The word "episcopal" literally means "pertaining to bishops", referring to the church's structure of governance and oversight. The Episcopal faith emphasizes balanced reliance on Scripture, tradition, and reason. The church strives to be welcoming and inclusive. One author has said, "Anyone with questions about who God is and how God works will find a seat in the Episcopal church . . .". An excellent document describing the Episcopal Church and its beliefs (by that same author) can be found here: The Episcopal Church of the Good Samaritan is a part of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, The Right Rev. James M. Stanton, Bishop. The Episcopal Church welcomes you - Good Samaritan is here for you.
